The New Jersey Institute offers comprehensive psychoanalytic training in a supportive, environment, preparing our candidates to effectively meet the challenge of depth clinical practice.

NJI offers its students the opportunity to train at their own pace and the flexibility to tailor the candidate's program to meet their respective needs. The Institute presents a Certified Adult Psychoanalytic Program, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Studies Program, the Group Psychotherapy Program, the Supervision of the Psychoanalytic Process Program. The Institute was founded in 1972 and has graduated over 90 psychoanalysts.

In addition to our regular training curriculum, NJI sponsors a number of short-term spring and summer workshops, training seminars, and conferences. We obtain approval for Continuing Education Credits from the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), The NJ State Board of Social Work Examiners, the N. J. Society for Clinical Social Workers and we are also providers for New Jersey Professional Development.

When a candidate is accepted at NJI, the candidate begins a journey of learning, steeped in the rich tradition of psychoanalysis. However, NJI is also a psychoanalytic community of candidates, members and faculty in which professional relationships and personal friendships are developed.
