Jack Schwartz, LCSW, PsyD , NCPsyA

"Freud's Irma Dream, the Origin of Psychoanalysis, and a Bloody Nose:
A multi-media exploration into the birth of psychoanalysis and dream interpretation"

The "Irma Dream" starts Chapter Two of Interpretation of Dreams and forever changes the way the world looks at human consciousness. Erik Erikson viewed the Irma Dream as ground Zero of psychoanalysis.

The workshop will explore the little known dark period which formed the backdrop to the critical moment of Freud's great breakthrough, using excerpts from a recently published paper along with a live re-imagining of a session Freud had with a patient that was to become "Irma".  The workshop will also allow the audience to participate in the reanalysis of the Irma dream.
