The 1-Year Psychoanalytically-Oriented Psychotherapy Certificate Program provides a foundation of the principles, theories, and techniques of psychoanalysis. This course will enable the participants to identify and utilize the four major clinical concepts of psychoanalysis: unconscious process, transference, resistance, and countertransference. MoreReady to go to the next level in your professional development and expand your practice?
Supervision is the cornerstone of training of all mental health professionals. Yet the skills of an effective supervisor are not necessarily the same as those needed to be an effective therapist. The 1-year Supervision of the Psychoanalytic Process provides a unique opportunity to learn about the principles of supervision and enhance your clinical skills.
In addition to relevant readings, this program offers intensive clinical experiences through observations of supervisory sessions, use of videotapes and sharing of live supervisory sessions. Part of the program involves the opportunity to supervise someone weekly. This hands on approach enhances affective learning. The goal is to illustrate the teaching-learning issues that arise in the supervisory work and to translate theoretical knowledge into effective practice.
